This week, our Scouts went to Scout Adventures Downe for a week of patrol style camping. We were also joined by some of our Cubs over three days where they got a taste of what Scout camp is all about. The camp encouraged teamwork skills between the patrols as well as useful skills for life. The activities included zip wiring, crate stacking, high ropes, cooking on open fires, learning how to use Kelly kettles, pioneering, hiking, multiple wide games, sleeping in bivouacs and much more! Well done to all the Cubs & Scouts for a very successful camp!

Well done to both of our Scout Teams for doing well at this year’s District First Aid & Pioneering Competition. Team B came 2nd place in the First Aid Category!

Well done to everyone that took part in our annual St George’s Day Parade today, you all looked very smart and are a credit to the Group!

A huge congratulations to Darcey Holmes for being selected to attend ReQuest 2021, an expedition and research project to Antarctica onboard a heritage sailing vessel. Darcey will be attending the expedition in 2021 along with 3 other Scouts from Kent and will help crew the sailing vessel as well as undertake a valuable global research project. ReQuest 2021 Selection Weekend

Many congratulations to our Scouts for coming 1st place in the Annual District Challenge Hike last weekend, you all did really well and completed the hike in 5½ hours. The leaders collected the certificate and trophy on your behalf.

A huge thank you to the South East Kent Astronomical Society (SEKAS) for coming to visit our Scout Troop last week to teach the Scouts about astronomy towards their badge.
