The Annual Remembrance Parade & Act of Worship will take place on Sunday 13th November 2016. This is a compulsory event for all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts so excellent attendance is expected from all. Beavers will not take part in the service and so they will be dismissed at approximately 11:05am outside St George’s Church in Ramsgate.
Last night, our Scouts slept rough outside in aid of the homeless charity Porchlight. The aim was to understand the sort of conditions homeless people have to deal with. Delamere Beaver Colony also had a sleepover in our Scout hut.
A huge congratulations to Julian Hewitt (Chief) who received his 25 years of service award on Wednesday at Scouts. He has also been a member of 1st St Lawrence for over 50 years!
The Thanet Scouts District Fishing Competition will take place on Sunday 16th October 2016 at Deal Pier and will be open to all Cubs and Scouts. Participants are to meet at the outside entrance to Deal Pier at 8:30am with their fishing equipment and bait. The event will finish at approximately 12:00 noon. Good luck 1st St Lawrence!
On Sunday 24th July, our group took part in the Ramsgate Carnival. Our theme for this year’s float was 100 years of Cub Scouts. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to Shere Khan from Spitfire Cub Pack for organising our group float.
