Thanet Scouts Monopoly Run 2016

Monopoly Run 2016
On Saturday 7th May 2016, two Scout teams from 1st St Lawrence took park in the Thanet Scouts Monopoly Run. The aim of the game is to get to as many places in Thanet as possible in 9 hours from a list which we got provided in the aim to accumulate as much Monopoly money as possible.

The teams were only allowed to use the local buses or walking to get around. Both of our teams really enjoyed the day, one of our team’s covered 11 miles of walking while our other team covered 17 miles of walking. We look forward to taking part again next year!

Congratulations Mia!

One of our Scouts, Mia Laker, has won 3rd place in the Year 7-9 category of the national “Show Racism the Red Card” competition for the anti-racism artwork she produced.

Mia attended an awards ceremony at Boleyn Ground, the home of West Ham United Football Club in East London. In addition to this, Mia has been awarded the Artist’s badge for her fantastic achievements. If your child achieves something special like this then don’t be shy to let us know by email at: 1ststlawrence@gmail.com.
